As educators we believe in the potential of and opportunity for all students. As your professional associations, HEA and VEA work to make sure every educator and student succeeds. Therefore, we celebrate Pride Month! To learn how to make or maintain a more just and inclusive culture in your school and/or community, join VEA and Equality Virginia for a webinar on June 9 at 6pm . Educators are very knowledgeable when it comes to building community. We tend to cultivate positive relationships among students and create welcoming, safe, and supportive learning spaces that are accepting of all cultures, languages, and identities. While educators can offer the space to hold conversations, there are other ways to show support for the AAPI community that has contributed so much to politics, military, medicine, aviation, entertainment, and sports in the United States.
